if you need a beta tester for android, I'd be willing to help.  I'm waiting on some rebates to buy Siralim for PC so I can't beta test that.

I figured it would only be usable on monsters with an existing design, rather than all new monsters as well.

Looing good - especially the angel design! I am wondering; this may be a tall order, but for people who may have preferred the old designs, is it possible to eventually add a possible secret "Retro Dye" or something like that? I don't know if it would be possible in the current engine, but I might as well ask.

Doubt they'll be able to do that. It'd mean having to make twice the art for new and upcoming assets and a ton of coding. Which is a shame as I too really, really dug the old graphics. They might've been GBC quality art, but it was *great* GBC quality art. I do love the new sprites, slightly hit-and-miss as they may be, but I can't help but feel like it's the end of, umm, an era none the less. Then again, I'm a sucker for bright colours.

I do very much believe that the new bat sprites are the single greatest thing in the game. They look so adorbabblific!

I have decided to scrap the avatar idea in the form that I told you about before. There'll be some way to learn and upgrade new permanent spells (probably around 30), but I'm not 100% sure how it'll be implemented yet.

How about a peak at the avatar sprites for the different mage classes?  I know I am supposed to decide based on the perk system, but what if I just want to look cool?

Digging the redesigns - clearer and cleaner looking, and consistent with the new style.
Though I do have to say, there was something unique about the old style, it looked just like it came off a GBC game. Almost like you upgraded to the SNES. :P

Really, really, really liking the redesigns. The bat in particular is just plain awesome, so adorbabble!

Also, +1 for the new Dragon Soldier ability.

I can't confirm, since I could have been very unlucky - but are realm levels not properly resetting at points? After attempting a level 9 realm and failing, I went back to level 1 realms, and the first encounter all went first and left me in a bad enough spot that I ended up immediately dying again. That would also explain inconsistent difficutly.

I looked into this issue and it's *possible* that this was indeed the problem. I've added some extra checks to the code to make sure this absolutely cannot happen in the full release of 2.0.

Most of those are going to be complete redesigns with very few exceptions (one exception being the Imler race). This includes their battle sprites as well.

I'll take a look and get back to you on that!

The NPC sprites are pretty much total redesigns in most cases. Many will maintain their old spirit, but some will be redesigned entirely. For example, the librarian won't be an old woman anymore (probably more middle-aged), and a lot of the clothing styles will be more medieval.

Alright! I was actually asking more about the monster sprites, however, though it's interesting to hear about the NPCs!

Also, a bit curious - are these sprite redrawings total redesigns or simply updates to make the style a bit more consistent with the new sprites?
