Ok well here is the last team you will ever need. I will just list the 12 abilities:

2 Topaz Attunements: First strike for all your critters obviously, pair them with 2 of the doomsayers
1 Paranormal + Calamity: Provides scaling indirect damage forever
1 Cradle to the Grave + Steadfast Resolve: Triggers calamity, most fights do not last beyond a few Cradle triggers in round 1
4 Doomsayer: Triggers calamity and is a threat on its own
1 Everything's Gone: Pair it with one of the doomsayers; optional but recommended
1 Eternal Rest: Pair it with a doomsayer; optional, can be diamond paragon or any utility effect you want

Not a bad team.  But Frenzy Ghoul will definitely shut this team down.  Bone Reapers will give this team major headaches as well. Scourge Mummies, Skeleton Mortarmen, and spells will be tough to deal with at higher realm levels.  Topaz Paragon as an enemy = not a good time.

I personally don't rely on defend/provoke as my main source of damage.  I always go with ATK as it it always better to be Frozen than to have Wrath.  I'll use 1 (maybe 2) Doomsayer as it is a good ability to have, but not reliable at one-shotting priority targets (Bone Reapers, Troll Arsonists, Mortarmen, etc.)

Chances of facing these guys are slim assuming you unlocked all the creature tiers.  But you will definitely crap your pants when you see these guys in the midst of a long Arena or Daily Realm streak.

When grinding lower levels, I find a simple team of Troll Arsonists with Back for More or Hysteria Ghouls with Resin kills quickly and efficiently.
Throw in a Witchdoctor Ritualist + Cloak and Dagger if you want some defense on the team.

Back for More is a great skill, but I found Itchy Finger to be more useful.  While Back for more grants a 50% chance to take another turn after your own, Itchy Finger grants a 25% chance for another turn after the turn of ANY creature still live.  While I haven't played past 2.0.14, I would generally put this skill in a sword: beefing up it's attack stat, putting the Proficient buff on there, and maybe adding some status effects of your choice.  Troll Arsonist, Ceaseless Maker, Brim Smith, Fallen Carnage, Hysteria Ghoul, Doom Devil, Skeleton Mortarman, Putrid Imling/Iron Imler Combo, and Pitwraith Dominator would all be good candidates for this skill I imagine.

Awesome! I already have a core from buying random stuff from merchants, so I will go extract. Thank you for the advice!

Hey Phyrry,

Check out Disciple Occultist to complement your team. They're great with Topaz Paragon's ability, as they don't really need a 2nd ability. You'll just use them to cast spells first turn and easily weaken/disable the other team. Check them out with spells like Mass Bloodlust for some true craziness (works extremely well with your Fallen Carnage). Remember also that you can dedicate more than one spell slot to a given spell. If you make a nether, go with a touch of speed so they go ahead of your other creatures.

If you haven't unlocked them yet, head off to the Arena and gamble cores. You only need one; sacrifice the core of the desired creature then extract on that level when you fight them.

I'm level 90 and have finally been able to start really descending beyond the baby levels. (I just passed Realm 10, and I'm excited about it.) Currently my party looks like...

Defensive Core:
1. Nether Stronghold (from the tutorial, all Rubies) with Inception (Timeless Master ability) on its artifact. It keeps everyone else alive and hits enemies back fairly often for easy core extraction and subsequent murder. I love it.
2. Ancient Ent with Topaz Attunement on its artifact. I had no idea that that material could drop before I'd made a Topaz Paragon (which I haven't), but it did, so I'm keeping it. Vigilance has saved my bacon many, many times.

Offensive Core:
3. Brim Smith with Splash and max Attack on its artifact. First turn in combat looks like this: Stronghold provokes, Ent removes shell if necessary or casts a useful spell, Smith smashes everything into tiny pieces.
4. Fallen Carnage with Reinvigoration. Once the Smith is done smashing, Carnage picks off the survivors. It often gets multiple attacks in, which makes it way better than a Unicorn for resurrections. I'm almost done with a full set of Emeralds for a nether version of this little monster.

Leftovers:
Right now I have a Nightwing Gargoyle and a Nexus Amaranth in the last two slots for resource generation. I've just started attuning an all-Topaz orb for an eventual Spider Occultist, who'll probably replace the Ent on the front line. (The Amaranth goes back to the stables.) I expect she'll be a lot of fun with Topaz Attunement.

When I'm grinding lower levels, I always keep these two creatures in:

1. Nexus Amaranth with Diamond Attunement
2. Nether Nightwing Gargoyle with Stone Form

My Nexus Amaranth is soon to be replaced with a Nether Nexus Amaranth, i have 27 level 10 diamond gems and an orb with 9 diamond activations.
My arena and higher realm level seeking creatures, which I swap once they reach my character level if I'm not in the arena or seeking higher realm levels, are these:

1. Nether Pit Wraith Dominator with Wind Shield
2. Vampire Bat with Bearer of Needs
3. Ruby Paragon with Rise to Fall
4. Ashwood Ent with Regeneration
5. Volcanic Efreet with Venom Inoculation
6. Panic Hound with Wolf Army

I'm considering swapping out either the Ashwood Ent or Volcanic Efreet for Horror Hound with Wolf Ability - Vicious Bite, since I recently found the appropriate legendary material for that creature and artifact combo.

My next nether is gonna be the Ruby Paragon, gonna give him lots of defense and some health.

I'm level 119, but I've seen my Nether Pit Wraith Dominator do over 100000 damage in a single hit.

my team is the following:
Demonic Nether Hysteria Ghoul:  Topaz Attunement from artifact and Bad Dreams as second ability, which is helpful to control dangerous creatures that could possibly wipe out the whole team, like ceaseless maker(no matter how good your tank is, it can still one shot my attackers.)
Nether Granite Golem: get Taunt from artifact, it's just a tank, with 99% damage reduction from blood dance
Nether Moss Golem: get Blood Dance from artifact, thus the Topaz+blood+taunt would protect the team very well, except things like ceaseless maker.

Nether Hysteria Ghoul: enchant Calamity, with high attack and low health, serves to wipe out enemies
Nether Hysteria Ghoul: enchant Resin, one great straight damage dealer, together with Hysteria Ghoul's another turn skill would deal tons of damage
Diamond Paragon: enchant Curse of Silent, enemies' spells are way too annoying, just silence them and force them to attack my tank. Also the increasing creature exp is good.

I am only a level 150 nature mage, with nether creatures at about lv100, but i think my team would not change a lot in later game, probably substitute diamond paragon to some functional creature or another attacker.

BTW, i think Hysteria ghoul's ability is flexible to use, any recommended creatures to replace them?

LV. 83 sorc, critters vary lv. 95 to 32(nethers)

Versatile loot crew

1. Servant hunter with rootsplosion
2. Unicorn vivifier with periphery
3. Fallen carnage with vengeance falls
4. Angel soulslayer who trains artifacts
5. Nexus amaranth with tricks of the trade
6. Nightwing gargoyle with styx cry

..it's not a basher outfit, but can handle everything tier 14 throws at it
gathers loot like a boss, I just farm levels 1 to 5 most of the time

My current favourite team:
Witch Doctor Sacrificer (Cloak and Dagger)
Priest of Light (Topaz Attunement)
Nightwing Gargoyle Demon (Bearer of Needs) (Everything's Gone)
Pit Wraith Dominator (Calamity)
Unicorn Vivifier (Topaz Attunement)
Bone Reaper (Curse of the Silent)

Pit Wraith Dominator is the only one with attack focused artifact.
The nightwing/priest/unicorn/reaper all have doom/haunt/stun/calm chance on their artifacts and stuff like shell when hit. Also exp bonus and essence bonus.
Witch Doctor has essence and exp boni and speed.
The Pit Wraith is a fairly crappy nether (not a great orb).

Plan is to make all demons at some point and atm farming around realm 100 trying to find  dusts.

Unicorn is really just a filler although he has been useful at times.

If my reaper dies it usually means a lot of others are dead too, The Witch Doctor usually lives longest. For those occasions i have a Requiem spell handy. In most cases that results in one of them dying again but calamity clearing the board since the buffs for the dominator are still valid.

Sofar not had any scares (its a hardcore game)
Most of the time i win before enemy gets a turn.

Will never summon a topaz paragon because that would really screw me over. Atm i can be sure i get to go first.

level 313 nature mage at dungeon 94

Nether Omnipotent Deity w/ Ascendancy level 302

Pegasus w/ Ascendancy level 388

Nether Stronghold w/ Damage Control level 304

Raven Acolyte w/ Frostfire Embodiment level 415

Hurricane w/ Eternal Rest level 296

Nether Troll Arsonist w/ Itchy Finger level 188

Basically damage control governs the damage so my pegasus lasts forever while the arsonist throws bombs at them until people start dying. I like my build but I wouldn't mind trying some other things. I've thought about Cradle to the grave on peggi, but my set up can take so many attacks. and I'm working on a health infused nether pegasus to last even longer. Troll right now is doing 9k damage and his finger is very itchy.

I recently put this build together and haven't had a chance to see how far in the dungeons i can get. I have a feeling I'll eventually need to use the paranormal slime + calamity combo, probably sacrifice hurricane for topaz gem + eternal rest at that point too so paranormal can get his attack boost asap. might as well go back to the red robes at that point.

i should probably look into some insta-kill combos. I know there is a gas one. probably should look into doom too since my current build is long play.

**update**

made some of those changes. swapping out OD and Hurricane for PS + Calamity  and Topaz + hurricane's ability. switched out my raven's frostfire for eternal rest. I forgot how powerful the chaos robes are. team feels way stronger. still working on the nether pegasus.

1. Skeleton Sniper Nether - High Attack and Luck combined with his One-shot make him really dangerous, and he has Phase Shift so he's like a real sniper

2. Ashwood Ent Nether - Tank with mostly Health Defense focus so can provoke, keeps party healthy

3. Minotaur Warrior - Provoker that rarely dies thanks to Ashwood + Unicorn

4. Unicorn Vivifier - Obviously keeps everyone alive, has Gain Invisible on hit

5. Death Guard - Another insta-kill and he has A Little Piece of Hell to give everyone splash

6. Servant Hunter Nether - Has highest Speed, starts by inflicting bleed and doing good damage thanks to glaive and splash

That's a really good team!  Especially the Stronghold, which is very scary.  Refraction was a good idea.

You might want to add in a Nightmare Mummy or his ability Curse of the Silent to ensure ALL enemy actions will be physical attacks and thus will be handled by your Stronghold.  Plus it eliminates the chance of being wiped out by a massive nuke spell or one that inflicts insane debuffs (burn, poison, stun, confuse, etc).  The downside is you can't cast spells yourself, but I still think Curse of the Silent is definitely worth having.

Also Lich Hellcaster has an ability called Sacrimony in which all your creatures gain 30% more attack each time an enemy dies.  This will definitely benefit your Brim Smith especially as you get to higher realms.  Emerald Paragon's Emerald Attunement is also another good boost.  Fallen Carnage/Midnight Feast Creature Builds rely on boosting that character's attack.

Not sure if you unlocked all the tiers yet but there is a creature called Frenzy Ghoul (guessing Tier 23 or 24) that inflicts Wrath on all your creatures at the start of battle meaning your characters cannot provoke or defend).  Brace yourself for that guy.  He is a tank's worst nightmare. Pegasus used to be reliable against him, but with the Cradle to the Grave nerf it's no longer a near full proof tank.  Luckily the amount of creatures you would have unlocked at that point will be many, so the chances of coming across him are slim.  But still be on the look out.
