Support / Frozen Spirit Bugs

3) Icy Tomb triggered on my Troll Arsonist from throwing a bomb, even though he hadn't acted yet (and thus hadn't attacked, defended, or provoked.) I'm guessing it's triggering any time a creature does something, even if it's just their ability going off? Also, the message is referring to the wrong creature being the source of the effect.

3) Purchasing the "fixed" cores from Bynine's list does not give you the correct cores. I think it's still giving some of the old ones (like Blademaster) though. The names are now correct, at least.

Suggestions / Progression Speed

In the process of starting a new game, I've come to realize one thing that bothers me...and that's the speed of progression when going through the creature tiers.

Currently, you're required to reach level 125 in order to get to all 30 creature tiers. Now, I understand the need to separate the creatures so that you don't get too overwhelmed too quickly, and I understand this creates a good "carrot" to go chasing after, a way to keep going. That said, for some of us the game doesn't really begin until tier 30 and we have full knowledge of the creatures available to us, and thus can start planning our end-game parties. I think I'd prefer if we can get to that final creature tier a little faster.

So I just got this guy not long ago, and wanted to talk about him. Despite my previous...problems with Rage as a buff, I kind of wanted to make some use of him simply because he looks awesome. Seriously, that combat art for the guy is nifty. His ability for the uninitiated:

Hotspur: After provoking, all of your creatures gain Rage.

Now, Rage is a dodgy buff to begin with. It can give a lot of damage, but the miss chance is annoying and potentially worse than the damage buff. That's actually fine, though, since it fits well with the trolls' theme of being unreliable, but very powerful when things fall into place or the RNG favors you.

My problem with him is that Hotspur doesn't feel like an ability that should be attached to a tank. For one thing, it does nothing to improve his actual defense or tanking ability, so nearly any other creature with an ability that triggers off of provoke or when hit will do better at the job than he will. For another, generating Rage every turn with a provoke is not always useful if/when your primary attacker(s) whiffed and still retained the Rage buff in the following round. It feels like he should be able to stop and take a swing or something to burn his own Rage when he doesn't need to refresh it, but if he's your only tank you don't want him doing anything but provoking every round or your squishies go kaboom. These flaws are already on top of the fact that Rage itself is a flawed buff already, I don't think he needs those additional weaknesses. Not to mention, by the time you unlock him you'll already be drowning in both great tanks and several options for attack steroids. It makes him a hard sell.

My suggestion: Have Hotspur trigger on defend instead of provoke. That way he can play a support role, and synergize better with his own ability.

3) Ultimatum (the Brownie Mauler ability) is still using the pre-2.0.15 description versus the updated one in the patch notes (claiming it scales off of damage taken instead of attack value).

Would be nice to get confirmation boxes for some things. In particular, I just created a minor sigil by accident when I meant to sacrifice a core, and now I need to go hunting for Nightmare Mummies again.  :(

Support / Doom Devil Graphic

3) Doom Devils seem to have the same battle graphic as Skull Devils, though they use the purple devil sprite in the overworld.

6) This has actually been around for a while, but the fix for the Cinder Devil overworld sprite reminded me of it.

Please don't hate me for all of the bug reports!

Support / Death Realm Rez Oddness

3) It seems like when the Death realm revives a creature as a different creature, the on-death abilities of the new creature trigger upon the revival instead of the original one. For example: Thunder Phoenix dies and is revived as a Lich Overseer. Electroheart doesn't fire, instead the Overseer's Resurrection Code does (and will fire again when the Overseer itself is slain.)

This ends up being a little humorous when the Death realm revives someone as a Gimp Mummy, as they immediately shift into a different creature.

Suggestions / Demented Carver Tweak

Another minor suggestion from me. Hope these don't get annoying. Regardless, I don't know if this technically counts as a bug or not, but it's working within the wording of the ability, so I'm going to assume that it's working as intended and should go here instead.

However, given the theme of the Betrayal ability, I think it would probably make a bit more sense if Demented Carvers didn't commit suicide as soon as they dip below 30% health. It's hilarious, sure, but doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Suggestions / Remove Rage from Random Buff Statue

So, using the angel statues is generally purely for your own benefit, except for one case I've noticed...the random buff blessing.

Now, I'm alright with getting buffs that are situationally useless, like getting splash on my tank. Or getting buffs that may backfire in specific instances, like getting Mend when a team has a Mutant Swampdweller in it. What I can't abide by, though, is how often I get the Rage buff on my attackers and they proceed to do nothing but flail uselessly at the enemy for the entire battle. I may just be extremely unlucky with this, but it's gotten to the point where I've learned to immediately portal out and back in whenever I get this blessing to ensure the statue stops "helping" me in this manner. I'm pretty sure that isn't the intended reaction.

Support / Minor Amaranth Animation Bug

3) Using a Nexus Amaranth, it seems to stop animating on map screens whenever it's facing north. It animates fine in any other direction.

6) No idea if this affects other Amaranths, since I only have the one.
