Title: Spell Tap gems count as non-temporary
Post by: Psylisa on May 30, 2018, 08:18:02 PM

Gems granted to your entire team by the Spell Tap trait count as non-temporary spell gems.
I'm unsure if this is intended, but as it stands, it makes certain other traits (like Terra Vulpes or Glade Watcher) insanely powerful.

Yes, you can do the same with Generous property on spell gems, but that requires that each and every spell gem have the trait.

Yeah and its really buggy too. I tried using Spell tap with Solidarity (seals each other critter's 1st three spells and can cast all of them for 0 mana). It works but its buggy as hell, too hard to describe but its a big mess. Try it.

Changing this trait, along with Lust (which has a similar effect) to create copies of the gems rather than using the exact gems themselves. This means the gems will be temporary as well.

I think that's all the traits that have this issue, but if anyone finds any more please let me know as I'd like to change them too.

Does this mean they'll have random properties when they are on another creature?

Nope, they'll be exact copies of the gem so they'll maintain the properties.

yep you can have it with generous and save 1 party slot. all looks balanced to me. party slot and lower cast cost vs no slot and generous.
plus you sorta risk a lot meeting impendance if you rely on spelltap/generous. just to mention
though i never really met any issues with temporary/not temporary, maybe pallida? or enemies copying spellgems. if pallida, then early on i win combo (pallida + spell tap) goes to a waste but nothing really bad, since i hope meeting terra vulpes with copy your spell gems sigil property now wont have every f&[email protected] enemy cast 4-5 times on you for 0 damage ofc before combat :P
also might need rewording of a trait for spell tap then (at the start of the battle your other creatures gain access to this creature non-temporaty spell gems, so nothing about getting copies, it should treat em as a part of innate creature set gems)

Edit: though i can remember some watchers that had +50% damage on each sorcery spellgem in their possession that exceeds the targets supply, and also a few traits that give stats based on non-temporaty gems. actually just came up with a few combinations. so spelltap giving non-temp maybe a bit strong. on other hand why even bother with spelltap when it will give temporary? :P

can we have some item that totally extracts all s*t from nether creature because its innate trait is godly no more? just for EA (specifically tomes/pills/aura scroll) :P or just have an item to change its innate trait
